We remained in silence for a moment or two until I spoke my thoughts aloud.
"What if we go down?"
"Then we go down," He responded matter-of-factly, and though that's the answer I should be expecting, that's not necessarily what I wanted to hear right now. He then nudged my shoulder, and slowly, I turned to meet his green eyes that were now glossed over under the bright light. "But hey, at least neither of us will have to go through with the bet, right?"
I smiled at him but it didn't end up reaching my eyes. "Yeah."
