Before she died, Kagaya Ubuyashiki asked about her condition and what had happened. Kagaya was puzzled until Shinjuro mentioned that the kakushi had found stretch marks on Mikoto's stomach, indicating that she had given birth. Just as they were about to learn more about her situation, one of the kakushi returned with a letter from Mikoto addressed to Kagaya Ubuyashiki. In the pages they read, they discovered what had happened to her. Muzan had forced her to conceive a child who would be immune to sunlight. Not only did the plan succeed, but the child also survived. Kagaya and Shinjuro were shocked to learn that Muzan had a living son in the world. After reading more, they discovered where the child was.
