In 2009, 12 year old James is very firmly at the bottom of his school's social food chain. The key target of a rough school bully, and all but friendless. That is until one day, 'Goldie' offers to be his friend, but only in secret.
In 2013, James has grown into Jamie, a sweet and sensitive 16 year old. Goldie is still his only friend, though he also pines after the biggest crush of his young life, Ashlea.
By 2019, Jimmy is 21 and living happily with Ashlea, the love of his life. Until they are both confronted with reminders from the past they wish they could forget.
