French teenager Julien Barbeau basically lives in the VRMMORPG, New Side, residing in Divinae, the capital of the kingdom of Armonia. But the peace comes to end, when the Beldon Kingdom's military branch, the Competent Combatants, come to attack and spark a war between the two nations. But little did Julien know that this bloody battle would lead him to discover a dark secret about the person running the game that may be connected to his past.
