A shadow snaked up my arm, a gentle caress, a brush of the night. "My name, Alina." 
I lifted my head. "Please, Aleksander." 
The darkness fell away and the nichevo'ya went still. The Grisha stopped and faced us. I barely registered Mal's horrified gaze. 
"Stand." 
My knees shook, but I pushed myself to my feet and stared into the Darkling's quartz eyes. Lifeless. Empty. 
Victorious.

The Darkling's forces are too great. The nichevo'ya, the Grisha, the merzost... Alina Starkov has no choice but to surrender and become the Darkling's Queen.
