"No." She defied, my jaw tensing as I looked at her. "I'm not asking." I emphasized, raising an eyebrow at her. "I'm telling you to reschedule it Mia." "No." She shook her head again, a loud sigh leaving my lips. "You're really gonna make me sit in jail for not showing?" "If that's your decision." She said simply. "On Monday you were bent out of hell about the warrant and now it's no big deal?" Her eyebrows furrowed. "It's still an issue." I muttered, sipping my beer again. "Wednesday is just a no-go." "Why?" "I teach-" I forced out a quick lie, watching her eyes narrow. "You teach?" She clarified, nodding my head. "Teach what? Where?" "Art. At the library." "You're so full of shit." She snapped at me, pissed off. "You expect me to believe that?" "I expect you to reschedule it." I corrected. "Just this once." "No Seth." She said again, body tensing as I looked at her. "I'll owe you." I said through my teeth, not wanting to beg for a favor on behalf of her fucking father. "Cash it in whenever. No questions asked." "What could you possibly offer me?" She mused bitterly, eyes squinting at me in a way that made my dick twitch despite the degrading jab. ------------ Seth Ackerman has his work cut out for him when one weekend things get real- fast. He worked for Edward Moore, one of Chicago's police department heroes. Great cop, great guy- on paper. But Edward was just another one of those crooked cops, doing shit they shouldn't like pushing drugs out in the suburbs of Lake County. Seth was clean and careful, except for his criminal record. He learned the business young, alongside his dad before his passing. Seth was introduced to Ed before his dad's death, stepping in for his father to keep supporting his family. Seth could've worked for anyone, he was raised into this lifestyle, but he liked working with Ed. That is until his daughter started working his file. All Rights Reserved
