A game. A game of life and death. Three champions chosen from each kingdom. 11 kingdoms, 33 champions. Only 1 winner. Clay Tryst has only known the cries of death since his childhood. Orphaned, scarred, and traumatized. Although he has locked away his past, a demand from the king has sent him back. Gavin Reed survives by one rule, kill or be killed. He has never been able to feel the love from anyone having grown up on the streets. Although he is merely an ex thief turned soldier, Gavin somehow winds up meeting old friends on his trip to victory. But, he struggles even more to keep his secret hidden from those around them. Melphima may be a woman, but Borbinian blood kept her strong as a princess left on the streets after her future thrown was taken over by her uncle. He picked her for his third champion not because of her strength, which was lacking, but for revenge on her deceased father.

In hiding as a maid, Princess Adelaide must resist the charms of the devilishly handsome Duke of Kingfield. But could he help her if she told him her secret? ***** Two years ago, Princess Adelaide was forced into hiding after her father, King William IV, was killed in a carriage accident that also took the life of her mother and brother. She suspects that the despicable man now on the throne of England--her uncle, Ernest--is responsible for her family's death, so she avoids his watchful eye by working as a maid for the aristocratic families of London. However, when she's employed by the dashing Duke of Kingfield, she soon discovers that he not only believes that the princess is alive, but also that she could be the key to saving England. Is Adelaide willing to come out of hiding in order to prove him right? Or are her growing feelings for him worth giving up her claim to the throne?
