"She's right! She's right! I don't cut in the right spot." My hold tightens on my wrist. The red blood oozes out of my wrist. I slide up and grab my bag and run out of the bathroom. I don't care if people can see the blood I just want to get out. I race for the doors and shove through people. I earn a lot of glares and glances that read "weirdo." I ignore and push. I run to my house and lock myself in my bathroom. I don't bother closing the front door cause I don't care if people come in to kill me. I grab my razor and cut deep cuts into my arm and wrists falling into a pool of my own blood. • • • Evangeline has a great life. Friends? Check! Good grades? Check! Loving family? Check! But what if she has secrets that nobody knows of? What if the only thing she can trust is her secret diary? What if slowly but surly she's dying inside? JUST SO EVERYONE KNOWS: this book was not made to glorify self harm and suicide. i wrote this book my sophomore year of high school and based it off of what was happening in my life at the time. self harm is not "quirky" or "fun" and it is a serious issue and can lead to death. the glorification of it on this app and others such as tiktok and tumblr make it so that people who are actually struggling are seen as "attention seekers." non suicidal self injury (NSSI) is a real problem. this book was written from own experiences and not from a person who has no idea what the hell they're talking about. if you are having suicidal thoughts or struggling with self harm, please don't hesitate to reach out to the suicide prevention hotline. even if you don't feel like you can talk on the phone, please text them. they are there to help and i don't want anyone else to go on the same path i was on. --- i'm fin e is the biggest lie i tell myself i'm fine is the biggest lie i tell everyone else because i'm not fine and nobody can see it ---- She woke up wishing she didn't. DISCLAIMER #1: I wrote this story when I was a teen and while some mental disorders are the focal point, they may not be accurate representations as I was far from being a psychologist. There are several things Lynn doesn't quite get about the world she lives in, which makes it harder for her to figure herself out. She is not your average teenager. She's young, intelligent, though something about her is off by now. I could see how her breathing became even more frantic and I cursed again under my breath, remembering now that I was standing before her, half naked, watching intensely a woman who was on verge of crying and screaming. I didn't even want to know how it would look like if someone else would come now in the room. I have an external link at the bottom of most of the chapters that leads to a Google Doc that explains the world. Please let me know if it works. Since Wattpad has an age of consent in their guidelines, I will have the explicit scenes on AO3 and not on here. If scenes like that make you uncomfortable, this will be the version without any of that. If you're curious, I don't use any of the more graphic words, this kind of thing makes me a bit uncomfortable so I wrote it in a way that didn't make me feel weird. Either way, you read whichever version you like. The Wattpad version will allude to some of those scenes however because some are quite important.
