Book Two: Earth

The world has finally caught up with them.

After the siege of the Northern Water Tribe, Aang, Aurora, Katara, and Sokka travel into the heart of the Earth Kingdom in search of an earthbending master for the Avatar and his Guardian-only to discover a nation already crumbling beneath the weight of a century of war.

Cities once thought untouchable fall. Refugees flood the roads. And everywhere they go, the Fire Nation is already there.

For Aurora, the journey is more than a search for a teacher. Every fortress that burns and every banner that falls reminds her of the empire she helped build-and the man who now rules it.

Long before the war consumed the world, Aurora was the betrothed of Prince Azulon, heir to Fire Lord Sozin. Together they believed they could shape the future. Instead, a sudden death, a ruthless succession, and Aurora's own desperate betrayal shattered everything.

As the group travels deeper into Earth Kingdom territory-through conquered cities, hidden resistance networks, and the legendary walls of Ba Sing Se-Aurora is forced to confront the truth she has tried to outrun for a hundred years:

Meanwhile Zuko, banished prince of the Fire Nation, is now a treasonous criminal and is blending in with the refugees the Earth Kingdom with his uncle Iroh at his side. But fate keeps pulling him into Aurora's orbit-toward the woman who once stood beside his grandfather and whose past may hold the key to understanding his own.

In the shadows of war, loyalties fracture.

Old ghosts return.

And the deeper they travel into the Earth Kingdom, the clearer it becomes that the greatest battle ahead is not against the Fire Nation-

-but against the truth of how the war began.
