"Spock, do you know what the word hiraeth means?"
Spock's eyebrows cocked upward and he took a shallow breath in. He didn't answer. Indy waited for his answer a few seconds more, then left him.

**TRIGGER WARNING** MENTIONS OF ANOREXIC BEHAVIOURS, SELF HARM, AND SEVERE DEPRESSION ARE PRESENT. READER DISCRESTION IS ADVISED.
All original characters are my own, however, I do not own Star Trek or any of the characters apart of Gene Roddenberry's creation.
I reference and quote many songs in this story. Only one of them, Between the Stars, is original. Please understand.
This story is completely fictional, any coincidences to real life persons is completely coincidental.
Dual tragedies bring the Enterprise's command team closer together, but the gap between them grows when Spock discovers something in Jim's mind.
This story reboots two TOS episodes: City on the Edge of Forever and Operation: Annihilate!. If you haven't seen them, you might want to before you read this. This story presumes you have a working knowledge of both.
This is my absolute favorite of my Trek stuff, packed with all of my favorite tropes! Be advised it contains primarily Kirk/Spock, but there are references to Spock/Uhura, Kirk/Edith, and Kirk/OMC.
