"Why are you crying?" Their voice is laced with worry. You take in all of it. Every detail of their face, their body. You smile sadly.

"I missed you," You reply with tears in your eyes. You missed them so much. Their laugh, their jokes, the small gestures. You missed simply being in their presence. So, every time you close your eyes, it was an escape.

"So did I," You smile at how genuine they sound. They open their arms and cock their head to the side. You don't hesitate, not in the slightest.

Their arms wrap around your waist and their scent engulfs your senses. In this moment, in an embrace with them, you feel safe. You forget all about your insecurities, you forget about how things are at home, you forget about your grades, and you simply exist with him. In this moment, you couldn't care less that everything in your life is slowly falling apart because their arms are wrapped around you and this is where you'd rather be than anywhere else in the world.

This is home.
