Seventeen year old, small town girl Atlas Greene has had a tough past. Her mom died five years ago which led her dad to become a violent drunk who abuses her. As the summer approaches, Atlas finds a job so that she can go to the University of Louisiana to get away from her dad. When she finally lands a job at a family business, she meets Sawyer-the older son of her boss who takes immediate interest in her. Sawyer is attentive and silly and everything Atlas needs to forget her home life. As they start to hang out outside of the workplace, secrets are revealed and her heart opens up. But she doesn't want it to. Atlas tries everything she can to stop their personal connection. Will she be able to face her reality or will she feel trapped forever? ••• disclaimer concerning my newfound imposter syndrome: •Everything from Atlas's name to the plot being similar to novels written by Colleen Hoover are entirely coincidental. The plot of this story has always been the same, but I gave Atlas her name long before I ever even heard of Colleen Hoover.

Summer

Summer is intoxicatingly beautiful and she knows it. Everyone wants to be her. Everyone wants to know her. What no one understands is Summer is not as perfect as she seems. Not by a long shot. And trying to hold it all together is like silently suffocating inside her own head. Until she somehow stumbles into Ace, who is as beautiful as he is cruel. He takes what he wants and doesn't care how he gets it. Pushing people away is what he knows and no one dares to get close enough or else they might get ripped to shreds. Summer doesn't trust Ace. She doesn't want or need him. He's frustrating, stubborn and doesn't care about anyone but himself. But a part of her can't help but feel drawn even as destructive and explosive as he seems to be.
