After Sarv was exposed as a demon to the church, she was thrown out; Along with Ruv who the church suspected of trying to cover it up. 
Ruv didn't really care, seeing as he didn't want to join the church in the first place, but now they both had nowhere to go. Sarv agreed to find a hotel or apartment to stay at, while Ruv stayed put. A gang was roaming around the streets on a crime spree, and Ruv got caught in the middle of it. He tried to run, but his legs couldn't carry him forever.
