Seventeen-year-old Holland Adler has two goals: land a coveted job at Intellectus-a multi-billion dollar tech company-and bring her invention, Upgrade, to life. Her idea? A neural chip that grants enhanced strength, intelligence, and reflexes. Small implant. Massive potential.

When she's hired, it's everything she imagined and more. Holland meets her team of intellects that will help bring Upgrade to life and begins a budding romance with her team lead. But strange and unsettling things keep happening around her that she can't seem to ignore. Soon, some people share other intentions with what to do with Upgrade, people with power, people who deem Holland a threat not just to the idea and team, but the greater company. 

Suddenly, she's not just pitching a product-she's protecting it. Now, she must decide what she's willing to risk: her dream job, her team, or something even more dangerous. But sometimes doing what feels right comes at a cost-and staying quiet has never been her way.

Once in the facility, Evita is tagged as a test subject and loses all say over what happens to her body. She has to escape. By the time she comes up with a plan there is only one problem. Evita isn't ready to leave.

But she's not the only one, there are nine others supposed to be besides her; two of which never made it past their mother's womb and one who's incompatible. What makes them special, is also what makes them dangerous. Ripped from their normal, day-to-day,school life, family and friends with no warning, they find out who they are. And why they're alive. But fitting back into that normal life they missed so much is proving to be hard. Especially for Maya, who has a tendency to get herself in trouble and extraordinary situations ENTIRELY her fault. (She'd rather die than admit that of course) Old life brings the problem of boys, unwanted advances, homework, teachers and of course, a boyfriend with she had a rather uncharacteristic meet-up. Scott, Sed, Andy are her childhood friends all the way with her in this. Almost all the way. They didn't expect her to change or to come back at all and they are having a HARD time adjusting to the new Maya. She's dangerous, she's hot and she knows it. She has done a lot in the past two years that will catch up to her and stuff after that which refuses to stay hidden. Controlling CEOs, sensitive boyfriend, an obssessed boss is just the tip of the iceberg. And I'm not even touching the problems at her school. Will all this unwanted attention put her in trouble? Author's note: this was my first story ever. It has no proper plot or story but it's fun to read! Also, lots of typos. And grammar mistakes. Tons of them. Tons. You have been warned. (Actually not that many but you've still been warned)
