When Tessa Everest's mom gets married, they move to a small town in Massachusetts for her new step father's job. Tessa leaves behind a life in Tacoma, and vows that she wont try and get comfortable here, she swears that they'll divorce soon enough, and Tessa and her mom can move back to Tacoma before the school year starts. But when she meets the free-spirited polar opposite girl with a secret that lives next door, something shifts inside of her.
