He also needs that money to pay for the treatment of his sick mother who had a stroke in the past, resulting in full bed rest at the hospital. Dream/Clay is the son of a rich businessman. George announces that he is moving to Florida. After some suspiciously close touching, sleeping together, and looks, Dream and George choose to get it together and make it permanent. There are some tws including homophobia, suicidal thoughts, and mentions of death here and there. I started this book a year or so and so for a few chapters it's bit cringy. Clay had been closeted all his life and planned for it to remain that way. But, with having homophobic parents it was seemingly impossible to ever find the happiness he longed for. After being outed to the only people he now disliked the most, his parents react worse than expected and Clay falls into a pit of loneliness when he gets sent to conversion therapy to "turn him straight again". George had homophobic parents too and goes through the same. When times are at its worst somehow these two meet each other and now they are isolated from reality in the therapy school. I had never felt this way before, I had never felt the immediate butterflies swarm my stomach as soon as I saw them, but this was different. As soon as the new boy and his girlfriend moved to my school, I only expected to get to know them both just the same as everyone else, but I felt differently towards one of them. But it wasn't the new girl, it was her boyfriend Clay... I was gay and it wasn't something which I hid, I often attended the LGBTQ+ club held at school too.
