Only one of them can come out on top; someone will win and someone will lose.
In Jacob's story, the normal everyday human (portrayed by Jacob) is the one who has control - the monster (portrayed by Nekama) only has control or power if the person relinquishes control. This can be due to anger, fear, depression, any negative emotion that brings a person down.
