I felt myself become flustered at his gaze. "Uh, Yeah, Thanks." I stumbled out, "You're not mad?" I ask. His expression turns to hurt as he crinkles his eyebrows. "Why the hell would I be mad?" He asks, hesitating on the crackers and pushing them away. "I just thought-it's just- well... you just always seem so pissed when someone mentions the word gay." I spit out words, scared for his reaction. He sighs, "That doesn't fucking mean I hate gays. Normally when I do that it's because someone's using the word 'gay' to hate on them, it just pisses me off, you know?" He asks, bringing the crackers back into his lap and biting into them. "Plus-" He adds on, "You're my best friend, if anything, you being gay is a blessing. I'll always support you." He says, glancing at me through the side of his eyes. I look away, towards the door to hide the crimson blush that I feel spread over my face. "Thanks." I all but squeak out. This is a redone, more realistic, more detailed, more writing experienced version of "Her Favorite Book" I wrote that story in 2021, I'm pretty sure, and I was less experienced than I was compared to now. Looking back at the story, I realized I could have offended certain people with my depictions of the abuse in the Rosa household, as well as her relationship with Charlie, and how she seems to not care as much about him as an older sibling, especially a protective one, would act. All of these problems are going to be fixed and all the chapters will be edited. I would also like to make it clear, I might change a couple things in the book itself, like, for example, I'm changing Alex(Ryder's younger brother) into a little girl who only speaks Spanish, and her name is Allie. Also, Ryders household life before Stella(Why his mom works so much, why his dad isn't in his life, etc) will be written in more detail than before. If I offended anyone in the original version of this story, I deeply apologize. Now, to those certain people that like the original story, I won't be taking it down, as it was and still is a big growing opportunity for my writing career as of now.
