As the stories are told, werewolf packs work like an hierarchy. There's an Alpha, in charge of all the wolves in his pack. There's his mate who is loyal to him at all times. There's a Beta, who is second in command, the Alpha's trusted friend and challenger. There's the Hunters, who are the only ones allowed to leave the grounds to find food. There's the Mothers, who stay in the dens to breed and take care of puppies for the wolves. Then there's the few Omegas, the weakest in the pack, bullied and picked on by everyone else and usually end up getting killed if they make too many mistakes. But ever since you turned 18, you learned that's not how it worked. Not at all. Werewolves worked like wild wolves rather than the movies and books you've read. It is true, however, that you can only turn to a wolf and can join the pack when you're 18. Years before that, you were obsessed with the romance of a weak young girl and the "Dominant Alpha" or the "Unappreciated Beta" or even the "Underdog Omega". Your father was technically the Beta of the pack but he wasn't in charge. He was just the most helpful in the pack. The "Alpha" was the oldest in the pack, the wisest and smartest woman you've ever met. She led the group away from danger and acted as the overseeing guardian, not a boss. The Hunters were the same as the Mothers, all taking care of their families and children and each other. And finally the Omegas were the actual children. The Omegas were the werewolves that couldn't fend for themselves or even turn yet. These children were the most protected in the pack. As disappointed in your fantasies you were, you found that there was one thing that was true among the pack: That war was real in packs, you're the reason it started and you're caught in the middle. ~~~ I honestly got tired of all the fake werewolf romances and decided to make one that I've been reading about on the internet where the Wattpaders don't see the true meaning of a pack. So forgive me, ha
