She simply can't be loved. Her life has been a complete mess. She was abandoned as a baby, took into a foster home, abused by a drunk 'mother', raped, and after all that, she finally ran away. She was living alone by the age of 18, until an issue comes up, forcing her to become the guardian of her 6 siblings {foster siblings}. She earns money by being a stripper at the club Red Lust to help with everything financially. She does get a check from S.S and spoils the kids rotten with it before going back and doing everything herself.
She has been told millions of times that she won't make any friends with the attitude she has. She has never been loved by anyone except herself, her siblings, and Acacia. Then the loner at her school is chosen as her partner for an Art project. He brings out the side of her that no one, not even herself, knew about.
Merliah would do anything for the baby she has found left on her doorstep. And having her seen by anyone in the public is a no-no.
