Chronicles of Avaloria
Nearly three centuries ago, the once-mighty human-dwarven alliance of Ostrovia was destroyed during a brutal series of civil wars and political malfeasances. Ancient blood magic and dwarven machinery fueled the death and destruction. Kings turned on one another, and the great wizards were corrupted by their own power. In the last days of the fall, the orc tribes, united by chaos and bloodshed, descended from the mountains and destroyed the war-torn kingdom, becoming the new dominant race of the land, leaving humanity on the brink of extinction. During those final days, a group of desperate survivors set course on a bold expedition into the perilous and uncharted Sea. Against all odds, a single ship crashed upon the shores of Avaloria... a realm steeped in ancient magic and guarded by a living forest teaming with dangerous enemies and undiscovered wonder. Now, nearly three centuries later, under the steadfast leadership of Aldros Valtir, the descendants of that fateful journey labor to rebuild civilization in the new world. At the edge of the wild frontier, young Aelar Varos has grown up in Harrow's End, a modest village, clinging to the untamed forests of Avaloria. But when Aelar unwittingly attracts the attention of something more powerful than he can fathom, it sets his destiny on an uncertain course. Cedric Valtir, eldest son of the King and heir to the throne, is loved by his men and women in equal measure. In the bustling heart of Valoria, where the lively corridors of The Silver Stag echo with hope and revelry, Cedric bridges his regal past with the promise of a new future. With his effortless grace, keen intellect, and warm humor, he inspires his people as he listens to their dreams and fears, even as whispers of impending threats swirl around him. But what will fate have in mind when he leaves the walls of the city that defines him?
