In high school, Tim Bradford had it all-looks, popularity, and a cruel streak. When he makes a bet to seduce quiet, guarded Lucy Chen, he never expects her to resist his charm-or to crack open something real inside him. But just when he finally falls for her, she overhears the truth: it was all a game. Broken and betrayed, Lucy walks away just weeks before graduation, leaving Tim with nothing but guilt and the memory of the girl he destroyed. Years later, Tim is a football superstar. Lucy is an LAPD sergeant. They never expected to see each other again-until a robbery, a badge, and a name bring everything rushing back. Now, with past wounds still bleeding and emotions running high, Tim is determined to win back the only girl he ever truly loved. But some scars don't fade.
