Becky Rogers is Steve Rogers' younger sister and she knows Steve has a best friend, but she hasn't met him. When Steve gets invited out, he asks her to come along to have a break from taking over the duties their mother used to do before she passed. They go to a small tavern where she finally meets Steve's best friend, James Buchanan Barnes, also known as Bucky. When one night of dancing with Bucky sparks a romance between the two, Steve tries to keep the two apart.

Bucky gets drafted much to both Becky and Steve's disappointment but unlike her brother, Becky knows Bucky is going to be fighting a good fight for his country. This makes Steve want to enroll into the army which upsets his sister, but she still supports her brother.
