After years of online calls, late night texting, and out of sync sleep schedules, Sapnap and George finally visit Florida. Dream's aspiration to truly know himself is met with the return of missed chances, and uncertainty. Placed in the dead center of his humid, overwhelming life, he and George are bound to confront the inevitable.

"Has it rained?" George asks suddenly.
Dream's thoughts snap away from the drifting green and cloudless sky, returning to earth once more. His lips part in silence.
George's voice was soft when he'd uttered the words, and for a reason he cannot place, Dream finds himself glancing to the back of Sapnap's head before responding, "Since...summer?"

The fanfiction that almost everyone in their fandom has read, the fiction of what never happened. They make jokes about it. All the time. Because, in honesty; Dream gets scared at how accurate the story was. Some of those conversations actually happened. Or something close to it. Conversations in the dark, snapchats of his hands, the nightmares. Or It's been a little less than three years since the hit fanfiction called Heatwaves has been published. It's June of 2023 and Dream is finally reading it. His feelings for George have never left, not in 4 years. When Dream decides to read this story he realizes there are so many similarities.Terminé
