The ever present threat of Climate change has finally caught up with the occupants of the world. The remnants, stuck on space stations orbiting earth wait in cryogenic stasis for the planet to be inhabitable again. 
When they wake up and return to the surface they are going to be in a for a real large and painful shock as the planet mercilessly beats the new settlers with the strength of nature itself.
