I lifted her up to see the stars a little closer, she was sat on my shoulders, relying on me to keep her stable.
"Wil! Look! A shooting star!"
"Go on, make a wish!"
"No, you do it!"
I closed my eyes, a small tear slipping down my cheek.
"I wish.. I wish this was real."
"Wilbur?"
I opened my eyes. Tommy sat in front of me. "You good?"
I shook my head. "I can't fucking take this anymore Tommy." I stood up.
"What? I- Wilbur?" Tommy stared after me. "Where are you-"
"I need to book a flight."
