a rumor spread like wildfire throughout hill valley high school that marty mcfly spent every free second at the estranged scientist, doc brown,'s lab, working on crazy experiments and helping build new inventions. the worst part about the rumor was that it was true. marty kept a low profile, avoiding questions that he knew doc wouldn't like him to answer. most people left him alone after the first year or so of high school, and by senior year, it was all but forgotten. that is, if jessica blake, a social outcast, didn't remember.
