As you can see, this book will be touching on backstories, though some will be revealed as the series goes on, species, and other things in the story of SBSP that aren't said in it at all... I'm rambling here. It's just background information in here, basically.

Set within the Splatoon universe with blood, war, angst, fluff and so much more, our main characters travel to different timelines where they combat one problem after another and meet friends along the way. From sanitisation, to a world full of order, absolute chaos, or... places that aren't Inkopolis? These worlds could contain anything and what ever awaits them on the other side of their portals will definatlely be an adventure. This series of events in this book is (technically was because it is being re-written) canonical to the 38 Saga. However, this follows a different story, so you do not need to read it to understand these books. When Callie is late to the Halloween party, Marie agrees to tell the others a story to kill the time. The story takes place long ago and is about a scientist that has no other dream but to create life. After many failures, he is forced to seek help from hooded figures that appear one night. He succeeds, but gets trapped in deal he can't escape from. A few months later, a shadow starts terrorizing the land of Inkopolis. It strikes at night, it's blade cutting down everyone that gets in it's way. One night, four travelers gather to stop the shadow, and go out to fight it.
