Roman Trente has a few things.

A roommate that he's gotten fond of. Well, as fond as you can be of a short, emo nightmare. Fond nonetheless. They're as close as he'd like them to be. Which is very, very close.

A job, where he gets to see that one cute coworker every day, and they can trade snarky comments about whatever sparks their interest that day. Nothing like handing someone a hot coffee while a hot guy whispers hot takes in your ear.

A secret, double life, fighting the supervillain Illusion. Who, it just so happens, has the most adorable smile and laugh and eyes and - superheroes were not supposed to be attracted to the very people trying to hurt their city, right? Nor were they supposed to help them defend it against an even worse, more deadly one.

Roman Trente has, in summary, the perfect life.

Too bad soulmates are a thing.

2) this is not just 'who gets the guy' there's a story here as well. also starting with chapter 14 there's some 'glitches' in the text! those are purposeful. i did hide some code in there (not much most of it is number spam) so study those if you want!! scroll past them too and you won't miss much, they're basically an easter egg :)
