Roman Trente has a few things.

A roommate that he's gotten fond of. Well, as fond as you can be of a short, emo nightmare. Fond nonetheless. They're as close as he'd like them to be. Which is very, very close. 

A job, where he gets to see that one cute coworker every day, and they can trade snarky comments about whatever sparks their interest that day. Nothing like handing someone a hot coffee while a hot guy whispers hot takes in your ear.

A secret, double life, fighting the supervillain Illusion. Who, it just so happens, has the most adorable smile and laugh and eyes and - superheroes were not supposed to be attracted to the very people trying to hurt their city, right? Nor were they supposed to help them defend it against an even worse, more deadly one.

Roman Trente has, in summary, the perfect life.

Too bad soulmates are a thing.

*Completed* Virgil has never had it easy, not since he was kicked out of his home by his own father. He's struggled to survive, and has fought for food. He sees what should have been an easy meal, some berries on a tree hanging over the river. It should have been easy to get it, of course the stupid branch had to break and he was sent plummeting into the river. Roman loves to sneak away from his colony and his fae duties to head to the river, he's always wondered what is on the other side of it. Of course, he and everyone else in his colony is banned from crossing it. One day though, a stranger with no wings and a tail washes up on the river bank. When he takes him back to the colony, he's put in charge of taking care of him. Thomas has inherited his home from family, it's in the middle of nowhere in a forest. It was nice, and not too far from his home is a nice river he can explore. Of course it can't be so simple though, since Thomas is in debt and could very well lose the home. Not wanting to lose a home that had been in his family for so long, he struggles to find some way to pay it off. 'Looking for quiet roommate.' 'Located in quiet area.' 'Apartment has previously received noise complaints.' Virgil groaned and tossed his phone onto his bed, burying his face in his hands. He just needed an apartment that would be okay with his job. Trying to keep to his price range and find what he needed was proving to be so much harder than he thought it would. This would be his first time moving somewhere that he didn't know the owners of the place beforehand. "Welcome to YouTube life, idiot." Virgil grumbled to himself. He picked up his phone again, going to close out of the app he was using, but suddenly a line on one that he hadn't looked at caught his eye. 'Must be willing to allow for eccentric work ethics and schedules, as owner of the apartment works independently online.' Virgil tapped on the listing and began to read. 'Four bedroom apartment, looking for up to three roommates. Apartments beneath and above are both empty at the moment, noise is not a problem so long as residents are courteous. Preferred that applicants are male.' Virgil stared at the listing. This was so... so perfect. He closed the app and tapped his messenger app. 'Hey Pat, I think I found something.' Disclaimer: I just reread A Lesson in Practicality by @residentanchor, so there might be some things ever so slightly similar to that, but if there are I am not doing it on purpose and I apologize. This is a universe where you are destined to find your soulmate. But it is a little different from the others. You are born with a set of white wings. They are similar to the kind hawks have. Once you meet your soulmate, they change to their favorite color. Logan has grown up in the little town of Nostahlgya. He had met every single person in town and his soulmate had never appeared. He had assumed he would meet him outside of his place of birth. Roman grew up in a city, his twin living with their father in New York. He has been searching since he could speak and he has had no luck. He decides that a little vacation wouldn't hurt. Virgil grew up in a farmhouse, not to far from Nostahgya, and was practically Logan's brother. Today, he decided to visit his aunt in the small town. A small surprise. Patton grew up near Roman. They had met in Kindergarten and have been best friends ever since. He would be joining Roman on his vaction, hoping to find his soulmate in the remote location. Remus grew up in New York, his twin living with their mother in Chicago. He has found his soulmate and is bringing him to meet Roman after he gets to Nostahlgya. In this world, you learn of your soulmate at age 16. You get an hour in their body per soulmate - it's only in a dream world similar to reality, though. On Logan's birthday, he, Roman, Patton, and Virgil get their dreams. It is customary to leave a basic introduction card next to your bed, as the Dream Scape copies reality. One of the four, however, gives no hint to who he is. Follow the group as they begin the search for each other. There are trigger warnings by chapter. After reviewing the Wattpad guidelines, I have decided it is best if I add a Mature warning to this story. Boy x Boy. If you don't like this kinda stuff then don't read it. Only rated mature for foul language, a lot of cursing, blood, gore, violence, mentions of self harm, abuse, and other deep topics. If this makes you uncomfortable or triggers you then don't read it! Virgil is a poor peasant under the curse of an evil warlock who only goes by the name Deceit. Roman, the young and popular dashing king is lonely and is in search of a queen or king. The two bump into each other on accident and worlds collide between the two. Roman suddenly feels like he has company and Virgil has a new feeling he can't describe. When Virgil's master finds out it only brings hell for the star-cross lovers with a curse and a whole lot of trouble standing in the way between the two.
