When the world lies in shambles as a war draws closer and closer, when humanity must grasp for every grain of wheat to survive just another day, when a self-proclaimed ruler and the spirit of freedom fighters collide.

What lies behind blood-tainted hands that lust for revenge? Hope for a bright future or fatalistic darkness that tries to wreathe people's hearts in eternal agony?
A ruler sets laws into stone, promising the perfect life in exchange for everlasting loyalty. Those who dare to rise against the rules set by what is Almighty will face severe consequences. Not only do people live in constant fear, but they are also segregated and left to their own demise. The separated inhabitants only exist for the purpose of what is referred to as the "greater good."

However, there lies an incredible power of determination within the hearts of those living in one certain nation. This nation is referred to as "Stargazer." With their rebellious hearts, they try to get back what they have lost.

Logan, one of the strong-willed members of "Stargazer," wants to sacrifice his own goals for the benefit of the others and willingly accepts every order of his captain, even when those turn against his own morals. Overthrowing the cause of it all-the man who rules them all. As a response to their revolutionary spirit, the man declares war upon them by utilizing cruel mechanized war machines. To his disbelief, Stargazer created their own mechs-the Horizon. The nations' destiny, the one that leads them to victory, back to the world they originally belong to. And thus, the fight begins with the resilient and the brave on terms of destruction and eternal legacy.

In the beginning, there was death. The darkness flows from hues of purple and orange, the moon rising to kiss the sun's rays one last time as the darkest cloud of night I've ever seen falls over our tiny haven. I catch Will's face from the side of my vision and my heart tightens slightly. The tick of his jaw wouldn't be noticeable for anyone but me. His best friend, his lifeline. A solemn tear forms in my eye as he wipes his face, another tear falling for the family he lost. I love him. Utterly and desperately so, but, there's nothing I can do about that. The ultimate forbidden fruit, if you will. I reach to comfort him and he doesn't respond. I open my mouth to speak and he looks my way, but the gleam in his dark brown eyes hits the moonlight just right and I fall. My voice escapes my throat and I can't do it. I've tried for years to tell him. 10 years, actually. All this time, I hopelessly remained devoted to a ghost who had given the best of himself to a fiery red-head with a sassy personality and the body of a supermodel. For 10 years, I held to the desperate thought that maybe, just maybe, he'd be someone I could count on. Instead, I watched him marry my best friend, smiled as they welcomed their son. Stood, holding that beautiful boy as his mother was in the first round of executions after the beginning of the Revelation. Helped heal Will's wounds in the aftermath. Cried, clutching the tear-stained shirt of my best friend as his son took his last staggering breath in that first harsh winter. The guilt of my emotions crawl through me. My heart twisting in regret, guilt, desperation, and grief. I loved my best friend. She was so much more than that; she was my family. In this dystopian quick read, join a group of people desperate to recapture their freedom and end a tyrant's reign.

Book Two: They encourage, not the realists and the brave, but the gullible and the fragile, those too weak to fight back. They massacre lower and middle-class citizens once every month to control the growing population through a method called Cleansing. They rid of all music except modern pop to eliminate diversity, keeping only one artist from each state in the music industry. They stop anyone from going in or out of the country and kick out all those not born within the now-armed borders. And that's just the beginning of what they call "The Great Reformation," the grand change of the United States government and all of its operations. All because the United Kingdom has turned against the nation and declared war, or so President Nathaniel Carter says. Carter, as the dictator, begins to tell citizens certain things, things that Ryan Tedder and his bandmates, Zach, Eddie, Brent, and Drew, don't actually buy. After all, physicist Niels Bohr once said, "The best weapon of a dictatorship is secrecy." Along with this chaos, Ryan is trying to deal with the stress of Ramona becoming distant due to her past reappearing, and the new rules and regulations making his career walk on a tightrope. The national anthem may say otherwise, but the United States is no longer the land of the free and the home of the brave. Not with the new government. Ryan and the other guys are determined to dig through the lies and find the real reason why. © 2016 by Verona Rohellec. Second installment of the Blooming Passion trilogy. Complete. Mature language. #9 in UTOPIA 3/3/19 I couldn't take my eyes off of Dean as he stared at the glimmering stars in the night sky. "I believe the story of our lives is already written in the stars. Our destiny is already given to us. The end of our lives will always end the same, no matter what we try to do to change it." I watched a strand of his blond hair fall over his ear. "What does that mean?" "It means that if you are the person who is destined to take the two parts of this country and bring them together, then it will happen one way or another." His heterochromia eyes found mine and I found myself entranced by them. "And Mel, by the looks of things right now, I'd say your story has started and you are already working towards your destiny." ** One country. Two nations. After the country split in two, the nations renamed themselves the Ameliorates and the Extricates. The Ameliorates live in a community full of stability and order. Melody Sharpe is the daughter of the Ameliorates' leaders. All her life she was told that the Extricates lived in a place full of chaos and destruction. What happens when she finds herself questioning everything she had once been taught? What does she do when she meets Dean Martin--the son of the Extricate leaders--who tells her that everything she knows is a lie? Why did the Extricates really split away from the Ameliorates? Why do the Extricates fear the Ameliorates more than anything else? Are the Extricates really the "bad" side? Melody starts asking questions--something she isn't supposed to do--and it might just lead her into the middle of a war.

Godslayers is about correcting a mistake. A mistake made by three kid geniuses who inherited a Corporate Technology Empire. They attempt to utilize Dark Tech to change the world with a new generation of technologies. Most important of all this new tech was a clean, efficient and totally renewable source of energy given freely to the world, an attempt to usher Earth into a golden age. They never asked their selves if the world was ready. Battle after battle that claimed nations, oceans and a third of the world's population within one year. By the second year, only three factions remained, political amalgams of financial, military and technological interests. High casualty and destructive rates refined combat, and Dark Tech's emerging technologies- unbridled by energy restrictions- were corrupted into a new version of warfare. The BADB Frames took over the battlefield. Exoskeletal marvels- walking tanks. These suits made the soldiers of the future nearly invincible, while giving them destructive abilities of such raw power and precision that conflict was forever altered. The pilots of these suits were almost all pulled from a previously untapped civilian resource: gamers. Suddenly, age was not a restriction. What's left of Dark Tech exists in three Neutral Zones spread throughout the globe. Three "war free" zones that house civilians who wish to remain outside the war. But a shadow beneath what's left of the world's political system upsets this balance and a secret group known only as The Keepers push the factions past their fear of Dark Tech and into the zones of neutrality. Dark Tech unleashes a new faction on the world- a fighting force that has taken high technology and martial skill to a new level. A group of warrior monk gamers that once again change the face of battle and square off against the faction's armies single-handedly.
