Many years ago the diamond authority created two diamonds called Pink and Black. Pink got a colony and black got a planet full of off-colored gems to rule. After her sapphire predicted that a war between Earth and her twin would occur she fled to the darkest depths of her planet. 8,000 years later Steven and the crystal gems go to explore Blacks abandoned world only to find the court of Black Diamond blocking his path...All Rights Reserved

And while Yellow Diamond emerges on Homeworld and is met with celebrations, the young Blue Diamond finds herself on a stray colony, with no knowledge of who she is supposed to be. At first taken to be an off-color, she attempts to find a place in gem society, guided by the fact that she always seems to share an emotional connection with those around her.
