Izuku Midoriya possessed a mediocre quirk. It could only ever be used once to summon something. That item then became bound to Izuku, and could be summoned whenever he called upon it.

Most four year olds, upon learning of their quirk, would think of big, unwieldly swords or cannons from Anime and cartoons, like Tom and Jerry.

Fortunately for the hero hopeful, he had been reading the Infinity Gauntlet comic when his quirk first manifested.
