After escaping from the maze, all is seemed to be fine. The gladers were supposedly rescued by an anti- W.I.C.K.E.D. group along with other kids from other mazes, but Linnea is still wary about whether it is all real or not. Whether they are really safe, or if they are in even more danger than before. Thankfully she isn't the only one who is wary about that.
As always, Thomas remains at Linnea's side, helping her with whatever decisions she's making, but when the people who rescued them separates the two, their interests only grow more and more for this team. Linnea is thrown in with another boy from another maze. They find some information that helps and hurts them in ways they'd never imagined.
The gladers escape and are left, wanted, out in the scorch, where friendships are tested, and trust never comes easily.
Will they all survive this or is this challenge even deadlier than the last one?
