Set after The Cruel Prince, by Holly Black, this fanfic follows the relationship between Jude and Cardan, who have a love-hate relationship. There are many things wrong with the new reigning King, he's an alcoholic, doesn't care about ruling, and an overall asshole, but no matters, because Jude is the one in control. Jude never thought she'd be able to pull this off, she's successfully tricked Cardan into taking his place on the throne, until Oak comes of age. She is amazed with her own planning! But what happens when Cardan becomes not all so keen on being pushed around and manipulated. What will happen when the year and a day is up? What is to come of Jude Duarte then? While her twin, Taryn, is married to Loke, Jude's ex-boyfriend, causing the highest of tensions between the two, and the eldest sister, Vivi, just trying to settle and reset the peaceful sister trio.
