In a not-so-distant future, scientist Odin Mackenzie creates a therapy ring to help his wife through a miscarriage. The ring stores a digital copy of a lost child's consciousness and creates a holographic life form the ring-wearer may interact with.
The ultimate effects of this innovation are cataclysmic, beginning a ticking time bomb towards the end of humanity.

I wrote this all over the course of three days and I'll be the first to admit that it's very rough!!! It's also the first story I've finished in years, maybe?? So I figured I'd post it here!
I'll post a new chapter each day until all 15 parts are released :)

The Hawaiian Special Forces
This is the story I'm writing for NaNoWriMo 2015. The goal: 50,000 word RAW draft written entirely in the month of November. Unlike most of my stories, which I prefer to edit before posting, I'm actually going to post updates to this at the end of each day in chapter-sized chunks. The idea behind this story is that a terrorist attack in the near future causes the US to go hyper-isolationist, to the point that it abandons Hawaii and Alaska to fend for themselves. They do, forming the United Pacific States (maybe with a few other island countries). Hawaii then goes on to turn itself into the new world police with stealthy, genetically modified cyber-soldiers. I'm marking this story as mature because there will be action scenes, and probably some interesting perspectives on nudity and relationships. Elora finds herself in a sticky position when her brother was in a terrible car accident, leading to an expensive medical bill that neither of them could afford. Her parents died when she was young, leaving her brother as her sole guardian. The two had been incredibly close over the years, and she had to find a way to help him in his current position.
