George hasn't had an easy life after being diagnosed with autism. Going to a public school as an autistic, highly intelligent boy, he clearly notices the differences between his classmates and himself, giving him a lot of insecurity and shame about his own behaviour. As his escape, he goes to a bakery for hours a day to calm his mind, but things change when a new boy who moved is hired. Unexpectedly, and for the first time, George decides to open himself up to the new boy, Clay, while at the same time, Clay slowly starts falling for his new best friend, George. Mostly fluff with some angst every now and then! ⚠️ I wrote this book from my own experience and my own mindset, as someone with diagnosed autism, highly intelligent and ADHD. George is different and they are sick of being judged. As soon as George learns not to care anymore they change to the person they want to be. They start wearing nail polish, dresses like they want to, uses they/them pronouns and shows openly that they are gay by adding a rainbow badge on their bag. Clay, a closeted gay bully, scared of the world around him. He never shows the real him, because he's scared of being judged. Clay bullies George because he's actually really jealous of him and is in love with George. But Clay makes the biggest mistake by kissing George and his world seems to be collapsing. His secret is threatened to come out for the whole world, something he always planned on keeping a secret. After George is kicked out from his home for being transgender, he looses hope in ever finding someone that would accept him for who he really is. George's only option was to move in with his homophobic grandparents and he only wishes to be called a boy however that apparently was too much to ask. In a last attempt to find happiness he attends a music class as he enjoys singing. He meets a boy, Clay, however will Clay be just like the others? Destined To Meet
Clay had been closeted all his life and planned for it to remain that way. But, with having homophobic parents it was seemingly impossible to ever find the happiness he longed for. After being outed to the only people he now disliked the most, his parents react worse than expected and Clay falls into a pit of loneliness when he gets sent to conversion therapy to "turn him straight again". George had homophobic parents too and goes through the same. When times are at its worst somehow these two meet each other and now they are isolated from reality in the therapy school. They moved to a small town in Florida, basically in the middle of nowhere to start over. Clay, on the other hand, lives a very happy life. He earns a steady allowance from helping his parents on their farm. Everyone at school loves him. He gets good grades. Girls like him. Clay is hiding a dark secret, though. One that could never be exposed to a small town like this. Clay likes men. The only people that know are his friend group and parents. How long can he bear to keep this secret for? [FINISHED] George has to live with extreme anxiety. He never talks to people and locks himself in his room. One day he needs to go to the supermarket. A random boy, named Clay, walks up to him, he makes George run away. The boy keeps contacting him. Why does George feel so comfortable around him? He isn't allowed to. How does this random guy do this, calm him down all the time? What starts with just a small conversation ends in way more than ever expected. 'Why did you start talking to me?'
