The Human-Covenant war is over, humanity can finally breathe easy, knowing that the biggest threat to their existence is scattered to the winds. The UNSC and Sangheili finally have a time of peace after 30 long years at each other's throats. The UNSC hands back it's emergency powers back to the UEG, and goes back to it's old mission of exploration and discovery, looking across the stars for forerunner artifacts and habitable planets. Until they stumble upon the ruins of a Republic Venator.
