The story takes place in late 1938. Jaclyn Blanchet and her sister Katherine are the daughters of the current US President. The country has taken a liking to Jaclyn, as she is extremely pretty and graceful, with impeccable taste in clothes. The paparazzi follows her almost everywhere and is quite obsessed with her whereabouts. Something about her made everyone want to shake her hand or talk to her. Jaclyn is a ballerina and attends Vassar College. When their father appoints Joseph P. Kennedy as the United States Ambassador to the UK, the first family travels to England. Jaclyn and Katherine take a liking to the Kennedy brothers, Jack and Joe Jr. With their short time in England, while on break from school, they go to parties and events but soon will have to part.
