Alisibeth Killian Talia didn't have the best life. She was abused for as long as she could remember and was always left behind by family, friends, and even significant others.

She was deemed as a liar, toxic, mentally unstable, vulnerable, sensitive, and other things she would much rather not repeat.

Finally free from her abuser, she tries to live the life she knows that she deserves, but it isn't as easy when you were never trained how to really make it on your own.

Therapy only had her jump from therapist to therapist, until one appointment happens that will change her life forever.

Her new therapist is kind, understanding, and even listens to her problems and her story while giving advice that's actually helpful along the way. Sure, he seems a little off, but what's the worst that could happen?

Soon getting entangled in the murder cases with the FBI while also being placed into the game of chess her therapist is playing with all he meets, will she be nothing but another pawn; or will she become something more than just an insignificant piece?
