Maybe It Ends Well

Maybe It Ends Well is a young adult fantasy romance about a broken friendship and second chances. Max betrayed Hali. That was all there was to it. In Hali's mind, at least. But when she sees him and his little sister in danger, transported to a new world, she can't stop herself from following, despite what he's done to her. She finds her way to the new world alone, her only goal getting Max to confess that the rumors he spread about her were lies. Once she's there, she's forced to escape from captivity as an 'extraterrestrial being'. And the longer she stays, though she doesn't realize it, the more danger she puts the inhabitants of "Earth" in. When a mysterious illness befalls many humans, and even a friend of hers, and she finds that she's responsible for it, she stops at nothing to fix what she's unwittingly done. Along the way to a cure, she finds out that there was more to Max's betrayal than she'd thought. Through all the pain and loss, they do find a cure. But it comes with a sacrifice.
