I've seen some Undertale fanfictions where readers and original characters are sucked from our reality and transported in to the reality of Undertale and it's several aus. Nightmare, a Lord with his own campaign and land, was sealed into a marriage with Cross. found himself entangled in the war his father-in-law X was supposed to fight in, taking the older man's place. He left his spouse for a war that lasted 7 years. Cross. a poor monster abused by his Father, X, who clearly uses him for his own gain regardless of his son's feelings, he does not care for Cross. and soon Cross found himself alone again the day after his wedding as Nightmare had departed for war. leaving him at the mercy of his Father once again.
