I got into my dream college but my father hates me for it. I am finally confident enough to wear what I want without letting others affect my choices, but people still ridicule me for it. I am slowly letting go of what happened at high school, but even a small whisper triggers me - so that one might not be a blessing. Yet - and the best one is I think I might have found my soulmate, BUT a platinum blond, reckless street racer who wears leather jacket even in the Boston heat, tries to actively sabotage it.

There is not a parallel universe in which I wouldn't be grateful for my grandma and the shit she has to put up with; I'd go to ends of the world for her, and I do what I have to do, to make sure she never faces the person who single handedly ruined all of our lives, ever again. And as fun as it sounds, being the moody guy who breaks everything and is a living terror for everyone except his family, inwardly I am trying with force of all the Gods above to not be whipped by a girl who wears tennis skirts and glittery clips. The aesthetic doesn't really match with my leather jacket. But what else am I supposed to do when she's trying so hard to fill the delusion in her head and fall for the rich clown of the class, except tell her that she can do better. Is this what is called a saviour complex?

But to my surprise, the car swerves to the side slightly next to me and comes to a stop. I take a deep breath I didn't know I was holding at the driver's side door swings open and a very pissed off Axel steps out. "Thank god," I mumble and place my hands on my knees to catch my breath. "Blaze?" He says and I hate it. I hate how he says my name as if it's his. Like he knows it's the only thing I want to hear, him calling out to me, looking at me, focused to me. It's the first time in my life I wanted someone's attention so badly I didn't care how I got it. And that was too dangerous for me to hold onto. "Are you insane or some shit? I could have killed you!" He says and starts to walk towards me. I take a big breath and step back away from him, "s-stop! Axel," I stutter still panting. It's then he notices the blood on my hands and shirt. "Is that blood?" He asks staring at my shirt and I take another step back. "Stop, stay b-back," I try to say confidently but I can't even breath right. Realizing he won't listen I start to turn around planning to make a break for it. " I lunge forward at him hitting his groin with my knee then right between the eyes. As soon as I do, he crashes to the ground, out cold. I go for more, but a pair of arms snatch my waist lifting me up. I kick my legs and flail my arms to get closer but he is too strong. "Let go of me!" I demand. "Shut up." A low strong voice commands."Is he okay?" "He is fine." I grunt. Then the young adult wakes up, then scurries back away from me. "Sorry ma'- miss... " he says, making me angry again. I give him a cold stare. "I'm sorry." He repeats, standing to his feet. "Put. Me. Down." I demand again. With a huff he puts me down. I step forward with full intentions to punch him again but the man behind me takes my arm, holding me back. I jerk forward to get off his grip but he takes my other arm tightly. "Alright! I'm done! I'm done!" I huff in defeat. " This story follows Astrid, a 26 year old female who ran away from home 10 years ago. The only reason she has come back was to get away from the hole she dug her self into. She is running away from her problems again. Life before she ran away wasn't as nice as the public saw it- the sherif's family, happy, and loving. Behind the doors it was orders being barked left and right with no warning or break. Not wanted to deal with this anymore, Astrid ran. On her voyage out, she ran into some trouble that seemed all fine until it wasn't. She comes back home and everything is all fine and dandy until, "Unknown: You thought you could hide forever? I found you, and I can find your friend, Nicole. If you want her safe, you'll be at the ring in an hour." Since Astrid's leave, the town suddenly had a motorcycle gang that hangs around, not realling doing anything in particular, but the sherif doesn't trust them much. She steps past me, hips swaying deliberately, pulling me in like a predator. Her helmet is fixed forward but her voice stalks me like a shadow no amount of light can take away. Slowly, deliberately, she slides her slender gloved hand down the cool metal tab of her fireproof suit. Her fingers curl around the zipper by her throat. With a tug, it dips lower over her chest. The neckline plunges into shadow, nothing hiding her recklessness. I lean in and press my fingers to the collar of her suit, and slowly drag them to the dip underneath her belly button where the zipper ends. She tenses suddenly, her breath catching. "You wanna flirt, fine," I say. "Beauty might buy you an audience, but it won't buy you speed." I slowly drag the zipper back up. "Maybe I want someone to call it," She says silkily. I bridge the ever-closing gap between us, my voice barely a thread. "Then stop hiding behind helmets, Angel." -------------------------------------------- Even through the thick smoke, the helmet, and the roar of the engines, he can't take his eyes off her.
