"You said you would protect me!" Tears fell freely from her sockets, the metal bars separating her between the crowd around her. She was hurt, angry, any emotion remotely close to betrayal, she felt.

Sapnap knew he couldn't save her. He knew that despite how much his heart urged to run and save her, he couldn't. And Dream knew it too. "I'm sorry..."Tears fell rapidly onto the grass below him, regret pooling in his eyes. "I-I.. I can't..."

They made eye-contact once more, their eyes swimming with the words they couldn't say to each other. It was their last moment, the last thing she saw, was him.
