Who decides if you're a hero or a monster?
Why, the victors, of course. So hold your boot to their throat and make them bleed.

When Scarlett's parents were kidnapped nine years ago, she was rescued from the cupboard under the stairs and trained to become a ruthless killer. Nearly a decade later, Scarlett is now dubbed "The Ruby Killer" and is one of the country's most wanted criminals, alongside her tech-genius best friend, Melody. Together, they sacrifice their own humanity to do their part to rid the world of evil. The duo settles into Wrighton, a small town in the absolute middle of nowhere, to take down the leaders of a notorious gang.
When Scarlett, who has never let feelings complicate a mission, starts to become too attached to the targets' son, she must choose whether to abandon all she's ever known for true happiness. As she tries to sort out her mess of a life, the unthinkable happens: a serial killer makes Wrighton their hunting ground, killing parents and kidnapping children. The Wrighton Killer's actions hit too close to home for Scarlett and Melody, and spur them to put an end to the attacks.
But what happens when The Ruby Killer's past starts to intertwine with the present, threatening those she cares about? Full of battling emotions, dark secrets, and betrayal, Abort Mission brings the reader along Scarlett's journey of finding answers, but most importantly, a future worth living.

So when a new contract comes in and the mark is a certain gang leader that caught Scarlett's eye, she couldn't resist venturing deeper into a world filled with illegal activities on a personal mission to find out why he has a price on his head. Although, what she finds in that world isn't quite what she expected. Now, torn between duty and passion, Scarlett must decide if she pulls the trigger or if she becomes the target herself? Who knows, maybe he might be the answer to her deepest desires. Because her next target: Cayden Carlisle. +++ The culprit took in a deep, calming breath. "You may as well shoot me now, but just know that I am still going to kiss you." By the time he grabbed her waist with one hand and her wrist, connecting to the hand holding the gun, with the other... she was lost. Completely gone. She never stood a chance. His smell, his mouth, his soft growling noises. They were more than enough to disarm her. "I finally figured something out about you." He whispered, pulling her closer, trying to meld every part of her to him. "You display all your emotions through body language. In this case, your hand is betraying your mask." Every word of his was chosen for maximum impact. No wasted syllables, no extra breaths. Just facts.
