'Ordinary', was not exactly the word Tony would use to describe the avengers. Far from it. No, between norse gods, walking science miracles, assassins, and more, the Avengers were anything but ordinary, and the things they delt with certainly weren't either. Still, it wasn't every day someone fell out of the sky.

In other words: Thanos is screwing up Space and Time with his search for the Infinity stones. Edward Elric (as always) gets caught up in the mess. Now he has to save Earth, and get back to Amestris in time to stop Father. Could this get any better? Yes.
Because the Aether is a Philosophers Stone.

Great.

Despite their best efforts to regain the trust of the world, the Avengers are still met with criticism. With every move they make under close scrutiny, they find themselves treading lightly to avoid more incidents akin to Ultron and the tragedy of Sokovia. When a new team of superheroes is entangled in disaster and an Avengers mission goes wrong, the government steps in with new legislation that would force all superheroes to register, and be overseen, by the government. Eager to right the wrongs of his past, Tony Stark is quick to join the government's efforts, believing that oversight will ensure that more disasters do not happen at the hands of the Avengers or any other super-powered individuals. In opposition of this is Steve Rogers, who believes that government oversight would enable politicians to decide who the villains are, forcing superheroes to become nothing more than political pawns. When the King of Wakanda is assassinated and Steve's old friend turned enemy, Winter Soldier, is implicated things become even more complicated. Forced to choose a side in a civil war, Dean Allen can't stop thinking about a far greater threat that lurks. Please note that this is an installment in an ongoing series. In the wake of Thanos's genocidal victory, the world is in mass mourning. Never one to concede before, Steve Rogers is left with no choice but to pick up the pieces of a shattered life. Haunted by his failure as well as the ghosts of those he lost, Steve is silently falling apart. In search of purpose, he finds solace in group therapy and pours all of his focus into being a source of strength for others- something he knows how to do all too well. Kyle Hensley lived much of his life alone until finally finding a family. But with the snap of a finger, Thanos took this from him. Reeling from the heavy loss, Kyle enters a place of isolation and grief until eventually finding some some kind of sanity in group therapy. It's here that he meets Steve. Surrounded by grim reminders of what they've lost, they turn to each other for comfort in a world that is no longer familiar to either of them Chronologically, this story takes place between my stories Avengers: Destiny Arrives and Avengers: Whatever it Takes. In this alternate universe, Loki is sent to Midgard after the fight over the Aether. The Avengers question the Allfather's sanity, but agree they would rather have Loki where they can keep an eye on him. So, after some extensive remodeling, the Avengers Tower and neighboring facilities are now an extensive training ground with everything they'll need to reform the once proud Asgardian prince. Thor is hopeful. He wants the brother he thought Loki was back. Clint (Hawkeye) is waiting for a reason to exact some much deserved revenge. Steve (Captain America) has hope that even the most hardened of evil doers can be changed for the better. No one quite knows what Natasha (Black Widow) is thinking. Tony (Iron Man) resents having to share his tower with a psychopath. Bruce (Hulk) did not fly away to Sakar. He's brooding away in his own private wing. Scott (Antman) is under house arrest... at the tower. Wanda (Scarlet Witch) is still mourning her brother while nurturing a still very naive Vision. (Neither are living in the tower. Will only play small, fleeting parts in this story.) Dr Strange refuses to move into the tower. After all, it is more important to keep up with his work at the Sanctum. Peter (Spiderman) is spending his summer at the Tower, much to the dismay of Aunt May, who knows how dangerous this is, but does not know Loki has returned. Sam (Falcon) will follow Cap to the ends of the earth, but refuses to jump off the proverbial bridge just because Cap's doing it. Bucky (Winter Soldier) is trying to atone for his past misdeeds, while learning what exactly they were, but is living in Wakanda with T-challa (Black Panther) so neither will be playing a large role in this story. Then there's Aite. She's new. She's the Greek goddess of mischief, delusion, folly, and ruin. You'd think her and Loki would be the best of friends... Not so much.
