Be Careful, Child (A Two-Part Short Story)
"Long ago in Silva Hills, a sudden noise of loud music and laughter echoed throughout the dark parts of the forest one night. The citizens who lived nearby were shaken awake by the sounds and were left sleepless. It was said that five people volunteered to investigate the source of the racket. The sounds stopped an hour later but....the group were never seen again. Some believed that whatever was out there, got to the unfortunate people while some think the group is stuck in some place and they can't get out. Either way, no one really knows for sure what happened to them." This story soon became a rumor the following years to come. Older people would use this tale to scare off children wandering in the woods at night. Pranksters would sometimes report that they've heard the same strange sound described in the story; and this is why everyone starts to debate whether this narrative is fictional or real. A newcomer will soon uncover whether this tale told by the townsfolk is true or not as an unintentional instinct leads her to where it is. But will the truth ever be revealed? Five friends venture into a long abandoned theme park, doing some urban exploring in a place they haven't been since they were children. All seems quiet at first, but as they delve further into the dilapidated theme park it becomes clear that something else lurks in the shadows. This is just a short story I've been working on in my spare time. This is still only the first draft, I haven't gone back and edited anything in it yet, so feel free to let me know if you think there's anything that I could change or improve.
