The Catalina Touch Effect (NaNoWriMo2014)

"Do you like Myles enough to kill for him?" Bass asked. Lust sat on the ground and looked at Bass, enough in his field of vision to be looked at.
"I don't really know how to answer that," she said, tilting her head in thought. Quite the dark question to ask and only a dark or cheesy answer to reply with. "Do you mean people or insects?"
"Either or," Bass said. Lust bit at her lip in thought and looked at the floor.
"Never," she said. "Myles shouldn't ever be put in that situation where any of us would have to do that, dumbass. Hopefully. Plus, we can't make things move, let alone hurt people."
That was in every way true. None of them had ever hurt anyone, other than Myles. They'd been able to grab onto him, poke and prod at his feet, and comb his hair with their fingers, but never have they been able to do that to other people. They've tried, all of them, but had never been successful.
