Hi All, I'm within a year of revising and finishing my MFA Thesis Novel, Crucifix. I am going to place some items and tidbits here, and I hope you wouldn't mind checking them out and providing me feedback. Please leave feedback as comments, or email them to me: d.graham.cruickshank@gmail.com Here's a little bit about the novel... **** *** **** If at first you don't succeed- there is no second chance. They were getting bored, charting new worlds for colonization, and then the future came calling... In the sci-fi novel Crucifix, Lauren is a biologist on the exploration vessel Amazing Grace, which conducts initial planet surveys for colonization. The work was interesting, but tedious, and the crew was looking forward to returning home. When a distress call comes in from the unregistered Sister of Mercy, Amazing Grace responds to discover all hands mysteriously dead... and that the ship is from their future. Among the victims is Lauren's apparent descendent, bearing the same identical hand-carved heirloom crucifix around his neck as hers. To save their present, and Sister of Mercy's future, Lauren and crew mates must outrun growing rifts in spacetime and go beyond explored space to the star system from where Sister of Mercy will start her fateful journey in 100 years.

"I want you, and only you. And if that makes me a cheater, a coward, or plain crazy, then so be it!" he said, with the same hint of something in his voice as his eyes gave away. She knew it now. It was revolt. "Oh, darling... " She took his face into her palms, meeting his gaze with compassion. "Then I guess we'll just be crazy together." ************************************************ 2022. As they are on the brink of experiencing a terrible car crash, LA surgeon Diego Perez and his wife Louise get sent back in time to the 19th century. It turns out that Diego has the ability to time-travel, and though he can not fully control it, this is not his first time doing it. But this is all new to Louise. The two get sent to the timeline of Diego's youth, three months after his mysterious disappearance when he was twenty years old. Now, at a much more mature age, but with a still youthful appearance thanks to a genetic anomaly, he is forced to take things up where he left them, with an upcoming wedding to his pregnant fiancée and much unresolved business as the town masked protector. But he has his modern-day wife with him, who has her own connections to this place and time, and things get more complicated by the day. Will he be able to figure out how to get his wife back home? Will their love endure the test of the time travel? Will they manage to navigate the rough waters of their existence in the 19th century? Word Count approx. 86000.
