So Kion is only 4 and then gets lost and seperated from his father King Simba they forget about him and time skip 16 years later they find him. Between that time skip Kion learns magic and learns to survive he makes friends from other TV shows. So it is a multiverse. He gets to the tree of life and meets Rani.
