The man picked up each lavender and placed them back into the basket, then gingerly placed it close enough so she would be able to see it. Tentative with his movements so he wouldn't scare the maiden even more. He then slowly stepped back to give her space to stand up. 

"I'm sorry if I scared you. I didn't mean to." 

He sounded genuine to Lorelei so she was able to muster up the courage to stand, she slowly grabbed her basket and held her head low. 

"Thank you." Lorelei muttered. 

"Of course-" He finally understood why she seemed so familiar to him.

His eyes were completely dark black as he moved his wings to break the rest of the curse on him. His body is getting even bigger and more musclar than the statue was. She froze, unable to move from the fear she felt. It was almost the most frightening moment in her life. The demon was panting heavily as he turned to look at her. He seemed angry. Suddenly, he growled in deep scary voice: "You humans, you lowly beings!"
